Sony reveals it will pay Bungie employees $1.2 billion to keep them at the studio

Sony disclosed in its financial statement that it will pay Bungie employees $1.2 billion in compensation and to keep them at the studio.

In fact, this is a third of the amount that Sony spent on the purchase of Bungie. The company will provide $800 million in bonuses to studio employees over the next two years as part of incentive payments, with the remainder paid to those who remain for long-term work at the studio. So Sony plans to motivate Bungie employees so that they do not go to competitors.

On January 31, 2022, Sony announced the purchase of Bungie Studios for $3.6 billion. This is the publishing house where Halo and Destiny were made, and work is also underway on Destiny 2. The Japanese company explained that Bungie will retain its composition and leadership, and work on all projects will continue in the current mode. Also, all Bungie games will remain cross-platform, the studio will retain full creative freedom and will have the right to independently publish their own games as an independent subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
