In the beta version of the Steam client, a card was found that displays information about the amount of memory occupied by the game on the disk. Previously, the size of the game could only be seen once the download had started.
Back in September 2021, Valve introduced a redesigned version of the download page. Added the ability to edit the priority of the download queue, the progress bar for installing the game and improved the section for managing installed games.
Now the company continues the initiative and reworks the game pages on Steam. Now users have the opportunity to first estimate the size of the game, and then proceed to download and install. Previously, information was shown only when the download button was clicked.
The feature is currently in beta testing and will be available to all users within a few weeks. Journalists also believe that this and other changes were added to the Steam client specifically for the upcoming Steam Deck.
