Moldova - Grosu discusses reforms and energy security with new US Ambassador

Moldova (bbabo.net), - The United States remains ready to provide support and advice on the Republic of Moldova's reform agenda. This was stated by the new American Ambassador Kent D. Logsdon, who met with the Speaker of the Parliament Igor Grosu, realitatea.md reports.

During the talks, the head of the Legislative Assembly of Chisinau noted that today, February 18, marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and the United States of America. In this regard, the President of the Parliament expressed his gratitude for the support provided to the Republic of Moldova by the United States for a long time.

“During this time, the US has offered us support in various areas, including infrastructure, business, agriculture, IT, the fight against corruption, reforming the judiciary. They also help us to strengthen state institutions,” said the Chairman of the Parliament.

Speaker Igor Grosu also noted that he wants to consolidate and strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation.

During the meeting, officials discussed the priorities of the current legislature, including fighting corruption, reforming the judiciary, and ensuring energy security.

Grosu stressed that the main priority is the reform of the justice system and the fight against corruption - an area in which the United States has provided our country with tremendous assistance.

“Another priority for the new government is energy security, and here we want to diversify resources by implementing important renewable energy efficiency projects,” said Igor Grosu.
