Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said that the republic, together with Russia, will continue to test the response forces of the Union State.
“In connection with the increase in military activity near the external borders of the Union State and the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation decided to continue checking the response forces of the Union State,” the republic’s Ministry of Defense Telegram channel says.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he had agreed with Russia to leave ammunition on the territory of the republic after the joint exercises "Allied Resolve - 2022".
The exercises "Allied Resolve - 2022" started on February 10 on the territory of Belarus. It was originally planned that they would last until February 20.
The military of both countries worked out the tasks "to suppress and repel external aggression in the course of conducting a defensive operation, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State."
The maneuvers took place at five Belarusian training grounds (Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichsky) and in separate areas of the area.
