The United States actually issued an indulgence to Kiev for any actions against the DPR and LPR

Against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, the American administration, which over the past few weeks has transferred hundreds of tons of weapons and ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has actually issued an indulgence to Kiev for any actions against the DPR and LPR. US President Joseph Biden called "unproven" and "contrary to logic" any suggestions that Ukraine could be behind the escalation in Donbass.

And although the White House verbally declares its commitment to diplomacy, such a categorical statement sends an unambiguous signal to Kiev and everyone else: no matter what happens next in the Donbass, the United States in advance considers Moscow and the people's republics to be guilty of this. Most of the American press traditionally writes about the escalation of the conflict in the vein that the White House sets.

Judging by Biden's actions, unwinding the situation with Ukraine is now the top priority for the US administration. Indeed, since the beginning of the week, Moscow has repeatedly signaled its desire to reduce the degree of tension and continue negotiations with the West on European security, sending its response to Washington on these issues. But Biden ignored all this.

But the head of the White House last week twice - on Tuesday and Friday - made televised addresses on Ukraine. This format is occasionally used by American leaders, but twice on the same topic within a few days is an extraordinary case. In addition, according to the White House schedule, Biden was supposed to hold a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) on the situation in Ukraine the day before.

In parallel, the United States is conducting a large-scale campaign of pressure on its allies so that they do not take it into their heads to question their line.

Biden said that before the speech, he spoke with congressmen from both parties, and then with the leaders of NATO allies. And vice-president Kamala Harris personally works Europeans on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. In particular, she held meetings with the leaders of Germany, Greece, the Baltic countries, Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Moscow repeatedly signaled a desire to reduce the degree of tension, but Biden ignored it

Biden, in his speech, tried in every possible way to convince that both inside the United States and in Washington's dialogue with partners there are no disagreements in the position on Ukraine. The head of the White House stressed the "unity" and "determination" of the West at least three times in a few minutes. Biden also repeated earlier statements: the United States is ready to "protect every inch of NATO", they are not going to send their troops to Ukraine, but they will continue to support it both in the military and in other spheres. The President of the United States boasted of "record" military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in recent years in the amount of over 600 million dollars. He said that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken plans to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on February 24 (the White House had previously said they were scheduled for February 23), but linked their organization to how events in the Donbass would develop.

The head of the White House again threatened Moscow with sanctions and uttered mantras about the "Russian invasion", expressing confidence that it would begin in the coming days and the decision on this had supposedly already been made. When asked by journalists about where such confidence comes from, the answer was traditional - these are the data of American intelligence. By the way, at this Biden turned around and left, and there was laughter among the journalists.

It also drew attention to the fact that President Biden, as his press secretary Jennifer Psaki had previously done, refused to call what was happening in Donbass a genocide.

The intentional blindness of Washington in relation to the civilian population of Donbass is regrettable, but, alas, rewriting history and facts for the sake of political goals is more the rule than the exception for the American elite.
