Russia - Military personnel of the Western Military District told how fireworks will be organized in the district on February 23

Russia (bbabo.net) - Fireworks dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day will be held on February 23 in the Western Military District in the hero cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tula, Smolensk, as well as in Voronezh and Kaliningrad. This was announced on Monday by the commander of the Western Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Zhuravlev.

The press service of the district specified that 95 launchers will be used to organize the festive fireworks. They will launch 7,500 special fireworks into the sky and fire more than 2,000 artillery salvos. The salute will be accompanied by shots from the ZIS-3 cannons of the Great Patriotic War, as well as D-44, MT-12 "Rapier" cannons. More than 400 military personnel will be involved in firing from artillery pieces and salute installations.

As for the festive fireworks in St. Petersburg, where the headquarters of the Western Military District is located, artillery volleys and fireworks will traditionally thunder from the walls of the bastions of the Peter and Paul Fortress.
