Lavrov told what Putin and Macron agreed on

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that French and Russian Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Putin agreed that Western countries would present their vision of the possible outcomes of the summits on Ukraine. He told reporters about this, RIA Novosti reports.

“President Putin very clearly explained more than once that we are not against summits, not against meetings, but before meeting, especially in such a tense atmosphere, it is important to understand how these summits, these meetings will end and what the result will be,” he said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin and French counterpart Emmanuel Macron phoned again on the night of February 21 and discussed the situation around Ukraine.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, the conversation between Putin and Macron took place at the initiative of the President of France.

As the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation added, a meeting between Moscow and Paris at the level of foreign ministers is not ruled out soon. At the moment, the details of a future meeting with the participation of representatives of Russia and France are not given.
