Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Damir Mukhetdinov, First Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Muslim Board of the Russian Federation, gave a lecture at St. Philaret's Institute on the topic of confessional relations. He announced this on social networks.

“At the invitation of respected colleagues, I gave a lecture on the topic of Christian-Muslim relations in Russia to teachers and students of the St. Philaret Institute,” the Muslim leader said.

The lecturer made a short digression into the history of Islam, and also expressed his vision on interreligious dialogue.

“During the lecture, he gave a historical excursion into the history of Islam in Russia and key Russian Muslim thinkers who influenced the development of theological thought in the 19th-20th centuries, then shared his thoughts on the possibility of a Christian-Muslim and, more broadly, interreligious dialogue,” Mukhetdinov noted.

He added that during the lecture there was a lively discussion, and the audience of the Orthodox university asked him interesting questions.
