China called on all parties in the situation around Ukraine to continue the dialogue

China called on all parties in the situation around Ukraine to show restraint and not take actions that lead to tension. China's Permanent Representative to the UN Zhang Jun said the parties should continue dialogue and consultations, TASS reports.

The Permanent Representative specified that China welcomes and supports all efforts to find a diplomatic solution. Beijing believes that a reasonable solution must be found in order to take into account the concerns of all on the basis of equality and mutual respect.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during an appeal to the Russians, announced a decision on the recognition of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). The Russian leader announced Russia's recognition of the independence of the DNR and LNR.

After that, the Permanent Representative of Great Britain to the United Nations (UN), Barbara Woodward, during a meeting of the UN Security Council, said that Russia's decisions on the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics would have harsh and far-reaching consequences.

Also, US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "teared to shreds" the Minsk agreements by signing a decree recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
