The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution on providing recommendations to the National Security and Defense Council of the country on the imposition of sanctions against deputies and senators of the State Duma of the Russian Federation who supported the independence of the DPR and LPR. “The purpose and objectives of the adoption of the resolution is to provide the prerequisites for making a decision on the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to persons for creating real and / or potential threats to national interests, national security in the information sphere, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” , is noted in the document.
The list contains 351 people. It also included members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba said at a press conference after talks with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that the country is not going to ever recognize the independence of the DNR and LNR.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the separatist regions of Donetsk and Lugansk. After that, sanctions against the Russian Federation were imposed by the United States, Great Britain, Australia, Canada and other countries.
