Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the authorities of the republic requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the appeal of the LPR and DPR for military assistance to Russia. The diplomat wrote about this on Twitter.

"Ukraine has initiated an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the appeal ... of the administrations in Donetsk and Luhansk to Russia with a request for military support, which is a further escalation of the security situation," Kuleba wrote.

Earlier, Ukraine called for a meeting of the UN Security Council against the background of the recognition of the DPR and LPR.
