Curfew introduced in Kiev

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has announced a curfew in the city, TASS reports.

He warned that at night, movement around the city is prohibited, it is impossible to leave the capital without restrictions. He stressed that he had no information about the restriction of entry into the city.

He also clarified in Telegram that protective structures will be equipped at the checkpoint at the entrance to Kiev and entry may be difficult. Klitschko also asked residents going out to have identification documents, but it is better to stay at home.

Earlier, air raid sirens sounded in the Ukrainian capital. Schools in the city have closed, hospitals continue to operate, Klitschko said. Local residents began to leave the capital. Klitschko urged the people of Kiev, who are involved in the work of the enterprises of the city's life support system, to stay at home, keep a "disturbing suitcase" and documents ready in order to quickly get to the shelter.

On February 24, after the start of the Russian special operation in the Donbas, Ukraine introduced martial law throughout the country. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky urged citizens not to panic and assured that the entire security and defense sector of the country is working.
