Putin and Erdogan discussed in detail the recognition of the LDNR

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed in detail with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan the situation in the Donbass, which has intensified the offensive by the Ukrainian security forces.

The Russian leader stressed that the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics was a forced step on the part of Russia, given Kiev's aggression in the Donbass and its refusal to comply with the Minsk agreements, the Kremlin reports.

At the same time, Putin said that Moscow was disappointed with the reaction of the United States and the North Atlantic Alliance on security guarantees. According to him, NATO actually tried to ignore Russia's concerns.

Erdogan, in turn, said that none of the countries in the region is interested in a military conflict in Ukraine, and Turkey stands for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this state, the Turkish presidential office said in a statement.

He also expressed hope for the soonest visit of the Russian leader to his country to participate in a meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council.
