French President Emmanuel Macron said his call to Russian President Vladimir Putin was made at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Reuters reports.
“I had a quick, direct, frank conversation with President Putin at the request of President Zelensky,” Macron acknowledged.
The main goal of his conversation, Macron called the appeal with a request to stop hostilities as soon as possible. He noted that maintaining the possibility of dialogue with the Russian leader is critical.
