It turned out that the two cameras of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra are technically worse than those of the Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra appears to have dual image sensors that are, on paper at least, worse than last year's flagship.

We are talking about sensors for the implementation of televisions. The S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra both cameras rely on the same sensors. But the new smartphone has different sensors, and they are of a smaller optical format.

If the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a Samsung S5K3J1 with a 1/3.24-inch optical format, then the S22 Ultra has a Sony IMX754 with a 1/3.52-inch format. At the same time, the first sensor has larger pixels: 1.22 microns versus 1.12 microns.

Of course, this does not mean that the cameras of the new smartphone will shoot worse. On the contrary, the first photos indicate the opposite. But technically, we still have a formal deterioration.
