Russia - A powerful filling station for electric vehicles will be built in Chelyabinsk

Russia (bbabo.net), - This summer, it is planned to open the first high-capacity electric charging hub in the South Ural capital. This is an initiative of a local defense enterprise that produces electrical equipment. The company has also developed the technical "heart" of the hub - a quick-charging station for electric vehicles, which, according to the authors, has no analogues in Russia: a 150 kW EZS will allow charging cars by 80 percent in 20 minutes.

The transition to electric vehicles is becoming a global trend. In August last year, the government of the Russian Federation announced a large-scale plan for electromobilization of the entire country. This trend has not bypassed the South Urals either. On the roads of Chelyabinsk, private passenger vehicles run on batteries, distributors also sell the first vehicles designed for cargo transportation, while the necessary infrastructure is not very productive: previously built EZS have a low power - only 22 kW.

Stations of such a capacity, which the Chelyabinsk enterprise offers, are not yet produced in Russia, therefore the initiative of the defense industry in the region was perceived as a breakthrough. In addition, the initiators are going to equip the new facility with another innovative product of their own - the Amasis 2.0 intellectual system, says Leonid Zelepukhin, Director for Strategic and Innovative Development of the company. It will provide not only video analytics (it will control the situation at the station), but also environmental monitoring, as well as the possibility of distributing free Wi-Fi. Additionally, an energy storage system can also be used at the EZS - in case of insufficient capacity of the connection point at some point.

- The project forms the basis for further development of technical areas in the field of energy, in particular, the prospect of working on bidirectional energy converters. Recently, they have attracted increasing interest from researchers as part of the SmartGrid concept, which assumes that smart grids will distribute energy. For Russia, these ideas are especially relevant, since the energy infrastructure is badly worn out and its operational management is of decisive importance, - says Maxim Gilmetdinov, Deputy Chief Designer for Civil Affairs of the Chelyabinsk company.
