“We ask the Russian Federation to immediately and unconditionally stop military operations and withdraw its armed forces from the territory of Ukraine. We call on the international community to urgently take all the actions provided for by the norms of international law to immediately stop the aggression of Russia, with the participation of Belarus, against Ukraine and to return to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The response of the international community should include measures to deter and punish the aggressor state, as well as support for the Ukrainian authorities,” Adrian Lupushor, national facilitator of the platform, said at a press conference.

The members of the platform are in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and welcome the restraint of the Ukrainian authorities and their willingness to seek diplomatic solutions.

At the same time, the members of the platform appeal to the international organizations of the UN, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, NATO, the EU and its member states, the US, Turkey, the UK, Canada, Switzerland and other partner states to provide immediate support to the Republic of Moldova in managing the crisis humanitarian situation and monitoring the security situation.

“We call on the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to ensure that the population is continuously informed about the measures taken at the national level in the context of the declared state of emergency.

We call on the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to urgently take immediate action to ensure the security of the information space of the Republic of Moldova, including by limiting propaganda and disinformation from the Kremlin and its instruments of influence in the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, members of the National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum call on the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and all political forces for unity, cohesion, solidarity, calmness and responsibility in this exceptional situation in the region and in the Republic of Moldova.

“We express our readiness to provide the necessary assistance and expertise to the national authorities in the process of managing the emergency in cooperation with the development partners of the Republic of Moldova,” added the platform's national facilitator.

WatchDog.MD Community member Valeriu Pasha urged people to remain calm. Currently, there is no time for politics and debates, and people should be united, listen and do what the representatives of the central authorities say and not believe false news, said Valeriu Pasha.

Igor Botsan, Executive Director of the Association for Democracy Through ADEPT Participation, emphasized that “in these moments of crisis, we all understand that today, at 5.00 am, the world has entered a new, extremely dangerous phase caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against the friendly Ukrainian people.”

“In these circumstances, given the fact that a difficult situation awaits us, I call citizens, individually and in society, to be in solidarity within the country and in solidarity with the Ukrainian people,” added Ihor Botsan.

The national platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum brings together about 100 non-governmental organizations.
