Moldova (bbabo.net), - The SHOR party demands from the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to take a number of social and tax measures in the context of the armed conflict in Ukraine and the tense situation in the region, which have further deepened the socio-economic crisis in our country. They are designed to support the population in the struggle for survival and help the business environment avoid collapse.
These measures are listed below:
1. The introduction of at least two months of a moratorium or, more precisely, a payment holiday on the payment of gas and electricity bills, as well as taxes and other payments to the state budget. This is in conditions when the small savings that people still have can be used for their current expenses and the purchase of the most necessary things;
2. Introduction of a moratorium on any fines and penalties on these payments for the population;
3. Introduction of a moratorium on any kind of state inspections of the business environment.
4. Exemption for 3 months of economic agents from penalties and fines for late payment of taxes;
5. Reducing taxes for economic agents and the population providing logistical and material assistance to refugees from conflict zones, by the amount for which they provided this assistance, that is, the state to recalculate;
6. An official appeal to the EU, the USA, the IMF with a request for the allocation of urgent financial assistance on a gratuitous basis to cover budgetary expenses in connection with the above initiatives;
7. Creation of a working group to develop a strategy to identify alternative import markets for essential products, instead of Ukraine and Russia, in conditions where there are real risks of interruptions in the transportation of goods from these countries due to the existing conflict;
8. Exemption for 3 months from VAT on the import of supplies of these goods to Moldova. This is in the context of the existence of a high probability that with the change of trading partners, the costs of acquiring these goods will increase;
All these measures are practical and necessary, but, most importantly, they can be implemented, and if the authorities resort to them, the Republic of Moldova will be able to more easily prevent shocks caused by the economic, social, political, military and health crisis.
We count on the responsibility of officials in Chisinau, and we hope that they were sincere when they announced that they would make every effort to support the population. The SHOR party remains open for dialogue and is ready to provide all necessary support to achieve these goals.
