The place of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will be the Alexandrovka-Vilcha checkpoint. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Sputnik Belarus.

Earlier, the border committee of Belarus said that Kyiv had notified him of the closure of the Vilcha checkpoint on the common border until March 3.

The head of the official delegation of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Medinsky, confirmed that Ukraine had agreed to hold negotiations on the territory of the Gomel region. According to him, the Russian side guarantees the safety of representatives of Ukraine.

On February 27, the Kyiv delegation agreed to meet with the Russian without preconditions. Earlier, Zelensky's press secretary said that there would be no representatives of Ukraine in Gomel at the talks with Russia.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that during the talks between the Russian and Ukrainian sides, "all planes, helicopters and missiles" stationed in Belarus will remain on the ground.

Earlier, the Ukrainian side reported that negotiations had already begun, but the Russian Foreign Ministry denied this information.
