On Monday morning, the car raced through the parking lot of the Islamic center of the city of Berien, and then crashed into the wall of a religious building.

The car rammed the panoramic window of the prayer hall and ended up inside the room, after which the driver reversed and fled the crime scene, reports bbabo.net citing the Seattle Times.

At the time of the attack, there was no one in the prayer room - the incident occurred after the morning service ended.

Berien Police Chief Ted Bowe spoke at a press conference about the incident. According to him, while law enforcement agencies do not have information about the motives of the offender. The silver Toyota Corolla, the bumper of which remained at the site of the collision, has been put on the wanted list.

The Muslim community is convinced that this is not a simple car accident. “This cannot be a coincidence or an accident,” said imam Yahya Sufi of the mosque, adding that the car crashed into the prayer hall, and not into any other part of a fairly large building.
