Moldova (bbabo.net), - Delegations of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, headed by the chairmen Florin-Vasile Chitu and Ion-Marcel Colacu, arrived in Chisinau to participate in a joint meeting with the Parliament of our country. A joint solemn meeting is held at the Palace of the Republic, agora.md reports.

At the opening of the meeting, the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu, spoke.

“Throughout our existence, history has put us to the test. The most recent of these is this cruel and unjust war on our eastern frontier. Despite this, we have always united around the same values. We want to live in peace and prosperity.

We have been and remain a country with free elections, where people did not allow authoritarian regimes to take root. Romania previously decided to choose the path of the European Union and proved that it can be a successful model for the Republic of Moldova as well,” said Maia Sandu.

“The joint meeting of the parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania is held for the first time and is a strong message in support of our efforts towards European integration, as well as a message about what we can do together to strengthen cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, energy, investment, health, education or culture,” said Igor Grosu, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, quoting zdg.md
