Netflix buys game studio Boss Fight Entertainment

Netflix announced the acquisition of the game studio Boss Fight Entertainment. The purchase took place as part of the company's promotion to the gaming market. Netflix now has three development teams: Oxenfree Night School, Next Games, and the newly arrived Boss Fight Entertainment.

Boss Fight Entertainment is known for the Dungeon Boss mobile strategy. At Netflix, the studio will develop unique games with original worlds and mechanics. While there is no information for which platforms the development will be carried out, but experts note that the studio will not repurpose and will focus on mobile platforms.

Boss Fight Entertainment has two offices in Austin and Seattle, as well as a headquarters in Allen. Netlix has no plans to move employees and will continue to work with the studio on the ground.

Also this week, Netflix revealed that it has launched its own Netflix mobile game library. Projects can be accessed through the streaming service's proprietary application. An active subscription to the service is required to download, and games are developed for both Android and iOS.
