According to TASS, citing a source in diplomatic circles, none other than the Emirati ambassador to Egypt Hamad Said al-Shamsi is involved in this case.

According to the investigation, the diplomat, using his official position, took out of the country the valuables found during the excavations in his luggage.

The Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper notes that the ambassador who did not justify the trust has already been expelled from the country of the pyramids. In total, almost 20 people are involved in the case, including ex-MP of the Arab Republic of Egypt Al Hasaneyn and influential Egyptian businessman Hassan Rate.

There is no information about the fate of the stolen artifacts, which, apparently, went to the personal collections of the Emirati sheikhs, as well as about the amount of damage caused.
