Footage of the epic collapse of the elevator in Beirut appeared

Two years after the man-made disaster in the port of Beirut, an elevator partially collapsed there, which had been in disrepair all this time.

The elevator was a kind of monument, reminiscent of the terrible incident on August 4, 2020, when over 200 people died and about 6 thousand were injured due to an explosion of saltpeter in the port. In a matter of seconds, a significant part of the city turned into ruins. About 300 thousand people were left without a roof over their heads. The port elevator was also fatally damaged.

Since that time, the authorities have not made any special efforts to finally demolish the elevator, which in fact was already unsuitable for further use. All this time, a fire smoldered on its territory, fueled by the remnants of fermented grain.

It is noted that it was the fire that led to the further collapse of part of the structure. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
