Asia (bbabo.net), - The US authorities have decided to cancel 26 September flights from the US to China operated by four Chinese carriers, explaining this by the restrictions imposed by Beijing in connection with the pandemic. This follows from the order of the US Department of Transportation distributed on Thursday.

According to the document, due to the measures taken by China to limit the spread of coronavirus, 26 passenger flights operated by American companies were canceled.

“We believe that the actions of the State Administration of Civil Aviation of the People's Republic of China are detrimental to the activities of American carriers. Under the circumstances, we have taken the decision to suspend 26 [Chinese air carriers] passenger flights,” the document says. These are flights operated by Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines.

The US department stressed that Washington would be ready to reconsider its decision if the Chinese authorities "adjust their policy" to help improve the situation for American air carriers. At the same time, the United States reserves the right to impose additional restrictions in the event of a "deterioration of the situation."
