The Russian Foreign Ministry warned the neighbors of Pridnestrovie about the risks of unfreezing the conflict

Moldova (bbabo.net), - There is a danger of escalation in Pridnestrovie, it is important that the neighboring countries of the region are aware of the risks of "defrosting" the conflict. This was stated to RIA Novosti by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Vitaly Tryapitsyn.

“Yes, there is a danger of escalation. Between April and June, a number of openly terrorist acts were committed in Pridnestrovie, the traces of which, as noted in Tiraspol, lead to Ukraine,” the diplomat said.

He stressed that according to his feelings, both sides are well aware of what the "hot scenario of unfreezing the conflict" is fraught with. Chisinau and Tiraspol confirm that despite the different understanding of the mechanism for settling the Transnistrian conflict (the Republic of Moldova considers the issue from the point of view of the unification of the country, and the PMR - independence and international recognition. - approx. bbabo.net), a solution is possible only at the negotiating table.

“It is important that external“ players ”, first of all, neighboring countries, realize this,” Vitaly Tryapitsyn concluded.

Recall that in April-May a series of terrorist attacks were committed in Pridnestrovie. The building of the State Security was fired from grenade launchers, the tower of the television and radio center was blown up, a drone attack was carried out on military facilities, there was an attempt to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office. PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, referring to the results of the investigation, said that the traces of the perpetrators of these crimes lead to Ukraine and Moldova.

A "red" level of terrorist threat was introduced in the republic. The Investigative Committee of Transnistria opened criminal cases under the article "terrorist act". On May 25, the president lowered the threat level to “yellow”. It also provides for increased security measures in the protection of public order and government facilities, roadblocks and enhanced border control.

Today, September 6, Vadim Krasnoselsky signed a decree extending the current level of safety until September 21.

As bbabo.net reported, former US commander in Europe Ben Hodges recently said that "the time has come for Ukraine and Moldova to resolve the Transnistrian issue." According to him, the special operation that Russia is currently conducting in Ukraine will continue in Moldova. In this regard, Transnistria is a dangerous springboard, as Russian troops (peacekeepers) are stationed there.

This is what Chisinau and the Ukrainian authorities are trying to convince. Kyiv at first persistently hinted that the Moldovan authorities would only have to ask - and the Armed Forces of Ukraine "in no time will deal with Tiraspol, freeing the left-bank region of the Republic of Moldova from separatists and Russian invaders." Now Zelensky’s office is directly saying that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will strike at Transnistria if they consider that there is a threat to them from the region. At the same time, they emphasize in Chisinau that such a scenario would mean an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Moldova, since although they do not control the Left Bank, it remains legally part of the Republic of Moldova.
