Tourism revenues in Georgia are the highest in the South Caucasus region

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Georgia's international tourism revenue in July increased by 130% compared to last year, exceeding the data for the same month of pre-pandemic 2019 by 20%, the Ministry of Economy of Georgia said in a statement.

“The issue of restoring tourism in Georgia was discussed at a meeting between Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili and Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili. The parties noted that the restoration of the Georgian tourism sector before the pre-pandemic period is proceeding successfully, tourism revenues in Georgia are the highest in the South Caucasus region,” the Ministry of Economy said.

Georgia's tourism revenue in 2022 reached a "record high", exceeding the same period in 2019 by 20.4%, amounting to $476.1 million, the ministry said.

“Discussing the qualifications of personnel employed in the Georgian tourism sector and the possibility of UNWTO support in this direction, Pololikashvili promised support in attracting foreign investment and introducing innovations,” the message says.
