China confirms the participation of its leader in the SCO summit in Samarkand

Asia (bbabo.net), Chinese President Xi Jinping will take part in the summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will be held on September 15-16 in Samarkand. “In the period from 14 to 16 September, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 22nd meeting of the heads of SCO member states in Samarkand, and at the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan Tokayev and the President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev will pay state visits to these countries,” the website says.

It is reported that this will be Xi Jinping's first overseas trip since the start of the pandemic. On July 1, he visited Hong Kong on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the transfer of the former British enclave to Chinese jurisdiction. The last foreign trip of the President of China took place in January 2020, when he paid an official visit to Myanmar.

The SCO summit will be held on September 15-16 in Samarkand.
