The Google Play app store has blocked applications related to Russian media RT and Sputnik in the European Union, Reuters reports.

The blocking of content occurred against the backdrop of a ban on broadcasting in the European Union of Sputnik and RT - Russian media were blocked as part of sanctions and a ban on participation in projects co-financed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
