The case of the dismissal of a pharmacist in a hijab was considered in parliament

In Australia, a young Muslim woman was fired from her job at a Sydney pharmacy after deciding to wear the hijab.

The situation with the Muslim pharmacist was considered at the parliamentary hearing, on behalf of the Muslim community, the representative of the Australian National Council of Imams, Bilal Rauf, spoke on behalf of the Muslim community.

According to Rauf, the employee of the pharmacy made a decision for herself to wear a headscarf, but this did not suit her management - the young woman was told that "in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, people do not like this." Subsequently, the pharmacist lost her job because she insisted on wearing the hijab.

A spokesman for the council of imams told parliamentarians that he supports a bill on religious discrimination, which should protect the rights of believers in the country, reports bbbabo.net with reference to news.com.au.

“There are frequent cases of Muslim women and Muslim youth being persecuted or beaten,” another representative of the Muslim community, Keysar Trad, told parliamentarians.
