Latest news from the Kremlin: on mobilization, referendums and the defense of territories

Russia (bbabo.net), - Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov outlined today, September 23, theses on partial mobilization in Russia, the prospects for Donbass after the referendums and the exchange of prisoners with Kyiv.

The Kremlin treats with "admiration" the 10,000 Russians who did not wait for summonses and came to the military registration and enlistment offices themselves. “We are proud of such people,” Peskov said. Whether there are such volunteers in the Kremlin itself is still unknown. According to him, the issue of assistance to those mobilized with loans is being worked out, "until a clear position has been formed." He urged not to succumb to the fakes about mobilization appearing on social networks and to believe only the reports of the Ministry of Defense.

Also, Peskov redirected questions about the operational situation in Donbas to the Russian Defense Ministry.

As for the ongoing referendums, Peskov is "practically convinced that it will be fast enough."

“Certain decisions of both our parliament and the president will be required. A number of procedures, everything will be carried out in strict accordance with the current legislation,” said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, after the annexation of the regions that voted, Ukrainian attacks on them will be regarded as an attack on Russia: “The Constitution of the Russian Federation will apply to these territories.”

Peskov reservedly commented on the exchange of prisoners with Ukraine, noting that "one can only welcome the return of people from the dungeons of the Kyiv regime, especially our guys." However, he did not want to say where the Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who was released as part of the exchange, is now and whether Putin spoke with him.

A number of other questions were asked at the press conference. In particular, is Moscow launching direct flights to the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus?

“So far, no decisions have been made in this regard,” Dmitry Peskov replied.
