Asia (bbabo.net), - It is necessary to intensify efforts in the fight against challenges and threats to regional security. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon stated this, speaking at the VI summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

“International and regional security is still threatened by the growing scale of terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, cybercrime. There is a need to increase joint efforts in the fight against these challenges and threats,” the Tajik leader said.

He noted that the coordination of actions of the CICA countries can also contribute to the establishment of peace in the region, including Afghanistan.

“This can provide significant assistance in establishing lasting peace and stability in this country,” he said.

The President of Tajikistan recalled the declaration adopted 3 years ago at the Dushanbe CICA summit, emphasizing its significance, and added that it reflects the positions and views of the meeting on important issues of cooperation in Asia, including the Afghan problem.

Astana is hosting the VI summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia with the participation of the heads of 11 states.
