This was stated today, October 16, at the opening ceremony of the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China by its General Secretary, President Xi Jinping.

“We will promote equality of opportunity, increase the incomes of low-income people and expand the share of the population with middle incomes,” he said.

According to Xi Jinping, the distribution of income and ways of accumulating wealth will be carefully regulated by the Chinese authorities.

“We will provide more pay for more work and encourage people to achieve prosperity through hard work,” said the Chinese leader, quoted by TASS.
