Reported for giggling, the governor explained that he smiled with his eyes.

The Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov commented on the incident when, during a meeting of the commission on the development of small and medium-sized businesses, he and his colleague were reprimanded by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

We are talking about the situation that occurred on December 1 this year. Mishustin drew attention to the fact that the Kaliningrad and Novgorod governors, Anton Alikhanov and Andrei Nikitin, sitting next to each other, were "giggling."

“We in no way giggled at what was said at the meeting,” Alikhanov emphasized.

He added that he and his colleague discussed some regional topic and at the same time "just smiled with their eyes."

“Everyone was wearing masks, and the only thing that could be seen was our smiling eyes,” concluded Alikhanov.

Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin criticized the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov for using "buzzwords".
