Dmitry Mezentsev took part in the Victory Territory forum

Russia (bbabo.net) - An open forum of the Victory Territory International Project was held at the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. Recall that the Victory Museum was the initiator of this project, and its goal is to create a single museum space in the field of military history. The project has already joined 250 museums and organizations from Russia and other countries, including six Belarusian museums.

The event, in full-time and remote format, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, heads of Russian and foreign museums, educational institutions and public organizations. State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev addressed the forum participants.

- You are involved in that chronicle of interaction between representatives of the museum community, public organizations, those people who consistently and very honestly defend the history of the Great Patriotic War on the basis of historical truth, - said Dmitry Mezentsev. - We see how the position of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and the position of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko - with respect and special reverent attitude towards the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers - are more and more perceived in society as the only possible policy of preserving the continuity of generations ...

The Secretary of State noted that today there is still a lot to be done in order to speak the same language with young people, 15-17-year-old schoolchildren. To speak sincerely, intelligently, relying on historical facts, so that they hear the truth about War and Feat, so that they are interested in our common history, and expressed confidence that "we will succeed." Dmitry Mezentsev spoke about the joint Belarusian-Russian publishing project, which was presented on the Day of Memory and Mourning on June 22 this year in the Brest Fortress. He also reminded the audience about the recent joint Collegium of the Ministries of Defense of Russia and Belarus, in which the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Khrenin took part.

The Secretary of State drew attention to the fact that during the meeting it was said "including about the work that we must do not just to perpetuate the memory of Soviet soldiers, but to ensure that we are all together, as one family, no matter what to the generation who belongs, equally, honestly, sincerely appraised the scale and depth of that feat. "

“This is especially important against the backdrop of the increasingly complicated situation in interaction with Western partners,” emphasized Dmitry Mezentsev. - We have recently heard that the President of Russia has outlined the boundaries beyond which Russia cannot agree with the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance in the movement of its military infrastructure to the East. He noted that "the strength of our spirit lies in our unity."

Dmitry Mezentsev said that the Board made a proposal to create a museum exposition on the Kobrin borders of the Brest Fortress.

- Today such a proposal is being considered by the Russian Ministry of Defense. We are awaiting an assessment by the Russian defense department so that we can create a unique exposition based on the Union budget in the next three to five years. So that the Kobrin line becomes the center of not just patriotic education, but the center of sincere worship of the amazing feat that the defenders of the Brest Fortress performed, - Dmitry Mezentsev noted. He stressed that today not all the names of those who died on the fields of the Great Patriotic War have been named, and our cooperation and interaction will be the best answer to the situation of the day.

The Secretary of State thanked the staff of museums - both the Victory Museum in Moscow and the Great Patriotic War Museum in Minsk, as well as thousands of associates throughout the Union State for the work they do every day.

Within the framework of the forum, the State Institution "Belarusian Cultural Center of Spiritual Renaissance" joined the "Victory Territory" project. During the meeting, Belarusian colleagues donated unique relics that belonged to Lieutenant Vasily Sobolev, a participant in the Battle of Rzhev, to the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. This is an authentic pencil portrait of the hero, taken in combat conditions in 1942, and a copy of a letter from the liberated Berlin dated July 9, 1945. They were part of the museum collection of the National Memorial Complex "Temple-monument in honor of All Saints and in memory of the victims who served to save our Fatherland."
