Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The grand opening of the Cathedral Mosque of Simferopol is planned closer to the beginning of spring, Deputy Mufti of Crimea Artur Reshitov said on Sputnik in Crimea radio.

He noted that minor final works are currently being carried out at the House of Allah.

Reshitov added that the first prayer held in December was intended as a symbolic opening, while the grand ceremony was yet to come.

“We hope that everything will go according to plan. The finishing touches remain,” said the deputy head of the Muslim Spiritual Directorate.

He emphasized that information about the Cathedral Mosque, which can already be called a historical building, will be included in all reference books as one of the main national treasures."

Earlier, the Mufti of Crimea, on behalf of Muslims, thanked Vladimir Putin for the Cathedral Mosque.
