Russia (bbabo.net), - The capital began to restore the Moscow ring road (MKAD) as a city, not a transit highway. It is prohibited for trucks without special passes, and this has significantly improved the security situation on the ring road.

The task of the Moscow builders is to make the MKAD the fastest, most modern and at the same time calm road. For this, a large-scale reconstruction program is being implemented, which will replace outdated interchanges with modern ones.

"Reconstruction and construction of interchanges on the Moscow Ring Road is one of the priorities for the development of the Moscow transport system," said Rafik Zagrutdinov, head of the construction department. due to the construction of side driveways and transitional speed lanes ".

The program has been operating since 2011, during this time, 18 interchanges with a total length of roads of more than 150 kilometers have been built and reconstructed. The construction of four more major interchanges should be completed in 2024. We are talking about the intersections of the ring with Altufevskoe shosse and Ostashkovskoe shosse, with Lipetskaya street, as well as with Verkhniye Polya and Kapotnya streets.

MKAD and Ostashkovskoe shosse are connected by a classic "clover" interchange. The stream from the near Moscow region, entering the ring every morning, actually blocked it. The clover now changes to directional ramps.

All junctions will be launched as soon as they are ready. It is expected that the complete reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Road will be completed in 2024

One new route from the highway to the outer side of the Moscow Ring Road will be organized using a 480-meter overpass. The existing ramps will also be reconstructed, and several side access roads will be built. The main effect for unloading the highway will be provided by two new overpasses. Along one of them, the flow from the radial line from the center will be able to go to the outer side of the ring. On the other, motorists from the region will turn to the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road. Due to the side passages along the circular highway, the streams will no longer intersect. All this should make it easier for residents of Mytishchi, Pushkin, Korolev, Ivanteevka to enter the capital. The throughput of the junction, according to preliminary calculations, should increase by 30 percent.

The interchange on Lipetskaya Street is being modernized even more thoroughly. It leads to the M4 Don highway, so it is always loaded to the limit. According to the press service of the Moscow building complex, almost 10 kilometers of roads will be built and reconstructed here, seven overpasses and a tunnel will be erected. An automated traffic control system will also be introduced at Lipetskaya. It includes vehicle detectors, high definition cameras. In fact, you will get a neural network that gives priority to buses and instantly responds to any changes in the traffic situation, notifying both city services and drivers.

At the same time, the section of the Moscow Ring Road from Kashirskoye to Varshavskoye Highway is also being reconstructed. As in all new interchanges, transitional high-speed lanes will appear here, side passages will be built on the inner and outer sides of the Moscow Ring Road. On the outside of the ring there will be an exit to the village of Blizhnie Prudischi, Leninsky District, Moscow Region.

Two new overpasses should simplify the entrance to the capital for residents of Mytishchi, Pushkin, Korolev, Ivanteevka near Moscow

Already at the beginning of 2023, they plan to open an interchange at the intersection with Altufevskoe highway. Thanks to it, the throughput of the MKAD section will increase by 20 percent.

Now a congress of the "clover" type is organized there, and it cannot cope with the load. In order to increase the capacity of the section, it will be replaced by an interchange with multidirectional ramps.

The project provides for the organization of a side passage along the inner side of the MKAD, the construction of an exit to the outer side of the MKAD, the reconstruction of existing exits and an overpass across the ring road. Also, at the places of adjoining to the Moscow Ring Road, high-speed transition lanes will be equipped.

“Now the supports and the superstructure of the overpass through the ring are being built, - said Deputy Mayor Andrey Bochkarev. - The overall construction readiness of the facility is estimated at 24 percent.” Among other things, seven ramps from the interchange will be built and renovated at this facility. They will equip one or two lanes for one-way traffic. An overpass is being reconstructed along the main course of the Altufevskoe highway. There will be three lanes in each direction and a sidewalk for pedestrians. Along the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road, a side passage will be built in one or two lanes for one-way traffic.Perhaps the most anticipated one will be the junction at the intersection with Verkhniye Polya Street. This is a very busy area in terms of traffic, flows go to the huge shopping center "Gardener" and back. The project was discussed for quite a long time and, finally, in 2020 it was agreed. It was decided to build a complex of multi-level transport interchanges in this flowing area. Within the framework of a large-scale project, more than 3.5 kilometers of direct passage of the "ring" with the device of transitional speed lanes will be reconstructed, as well as the construction of several flyovers.

For pedestrians, two overhead crossings will be created: along the exit from Novoyegoryevskoye Highway to the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road and across Verkhniye Polya Street, as well as a pedestrian tunnel.

The elevated pedestrian crossing along the exit from Novoyegoryevskoye Highway to the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road includes four exits, which will be located on two sides of Verkhniye Polya Street, as well as on the inner and outer sides of the Moscow Ring Road.

One of the descent towers will provide a pedestrian connection with the Mega shopping center; the crossing will also be equipped with lifts. The pedestrian overpass across Verkhniye Polya Street will have two descent towers: at the bus stop in the direction of the Moscow Ring Road near the Sadovod shopping center and at the bus stop in the direction of the city center near the Kuzminki park.

All junctions will be launched as soon as they are ready. It is expected that the complete reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Road will be completed in 2024.
