Lavrov: The EU is betting on transferring long-range systems to Kyiv to strike the “heart of the Russian Federation”

February 16, (bbabo.net). The European Union is guided by plans to transfer long-range weapons to the Kyiv authorities that could reach the “heart of the Russian Federation.” This was stated by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov, TASS reports.

The Russian diplomat pointed out that there is evidence that the European Foreign Service has drawn up recommendations for Ukraine, which suggest relying on transferring even longer-range weapons to Kyiv so that they reach the heart of the Russian Federation. In this way, one can sow confusion and panic, and undermine the trust of the people, the initiators of such tactics believe. “Isn’t this direct participation in the war? Of course,” Lavrov pointed out.

A criminal case has been opened in Russia for a terrorist attack after the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Belgorod.

According to him, there is no doubt that the West has declared war on Russia, they are not hiding it. Everyone understands that statements in the spirit of “we only arm Ukraine, and it fights itself” are a lie. Western instructors observe how planning is carried out by the General Staff of Ukraine and help target targets, the Russian minister noted. “In war, the main thing is strategies, and strategies are not located in Kyiv, but far away,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also said.

Ukraine, having lost its financial independence, has turned into an “international beggar.” “The West is using Ukraine in every sense in order to contain Russia, in order, as they say, to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, to prevent it from playing the role on the world stage that is rightfully due to it,” the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized. As a result, Ukraine, of course, which received the richest industrial potential from the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire, turned into probably the poorest state in Europe, a dying territory, without exaggeration, and the Kiev authorities are a universally recognized international beggar."

In the matter of dialogue with Kiev, the ball is not in Moscow’s court; first of all, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky must cancel the decree prohibiting negotiations with Russia, Lavrov also said. “There was an agreement almost two years ago, in April 2022, which the Anglo-Saxons simply forbade Zelensky to sign, which had already been agreed upon,” the Russian minister said.

The West is trying to trick the countries of the global majority into joining Zelensky’s so-called “peace formula,” but it is “completely dead-end.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation noted that the limit of Moscow’s “gestures of goodwill” to restore relations with Western countries has been exhausted; the West has not reciprocated the “good deeds” of the Russian Federation. Russian leader Vladimir Putin, in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, explained that the normalization of relations no longer depends on the Russian side. “We saw other gestures on their part in response to our good deeds,” Lavrov said. The minister also recalled that Putin called on the West to admit the mistake and try to find some convenient way out, provided that the problems around Ukraine are resolved with full consideration of Russian interests.
