Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The “Future Games” that started in Kazan are organized at the highest level, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of state expressed gratitude to the head of the region for his assistance in organizing this international-level sporting event.

“Everything has been worked out with dignity,” Putin emphasized.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Federation, during the opening ceremony of the Games, ruled out double standards and any forms of discrimination at the tournament in the capital of Tatarstan.

“I am sure that genuine sport will reign at the Games venues. Two thousand athletes from more than a hundred countries of the world will have to demonstrate masterly skill, perseverance, and the will to win,” the Russian leader said.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the presidents of five friendly states - Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Serbia. During a visit to the Kul Sharif mosque, Serbian leader Milorad Dodik was impressed by the reading of the Koran.

Putin supported figure skater Kamila Valieva

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the support of figure skater Kamila Valieva from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Tarasova said she was happy for Valieva, whom Putin placed next to him at today’s opening of the “Future Games” in Kazan. “I’m glad for the girl and that we have such a president of the country,” RIA Novosti quotes her as saying.

Earlier, Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov commented on the fact that at the opening of the Games of the Future, Putin was sitting next to the figure skater. He said that the head of state supports Valieva, who was disqualified for doping.
