"The creation of an organization that will solve the problems of millions of migrants is on the government's agenda," said Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.

According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, more than 500 thousand refugees have arrived in Iran since the beginning of 2021.

At the same time, the total number of refugees from Afghanistan in Iran is estimated at 2.2 million illegal immigrants and about 780 thousand people who live in the country on a permanent basis.

UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi has called for help in Iran to cope with the influx of refugees.

Earlier, the President of Poland warned about the emergence of a land migration route through Russia.

At the same time, he noted that the risk of such a development of events is "absolutely real", but expressed the hope that the Russian authorities "will not allow such a crisis situation to arise."
