Another country has banned the export of cars to Belarus

Belarus (bbabo.net), - Following Poland, Latvia introduced restrictions on the export of some cars to Belarus. This was reported today, March 28, by the Belarusian Customs Committee.

“In specialized chats they report that since the evening of March 26, at the only operating Latvian-Belarusian checkpoint “Paternieki” (Grigorovshchina), cars with transit license plates are simply turned away from the border,” the message says.

It is noted that “on the Internet they also talk about the impossible conditions that have been put forward for the delivery to Belarus of cars with an engine capacity of more than 1.9 liters and a cost of more than 50 thousand euros.”

“For example, it is necessary to provide a document confirming that the car manufacturer knows who the seller and buyer are. In addition, at the border they are required to confirm that the manufacturer is aware that the car is in transit through Belarus and (or) Russia and will not be resold in these countries, but will reach the end consumer in a third country. It is also necessary to prove that the manufacturer knows who the final buyer of the car will be,” the State Customs Committee of Belarus reported.

Let us remind you that from March 23, Poland banned the export to Belarus of cars with an engine capacity of 1.9 liters or more, as well as those that cost more than 50 thousand euros. Polish authorities do not say what this ban is related to, but it is known that cars are not included in the sanctions list. In order for the car to enter Belarus, Polish border guards require a new set of documents, including statements from the exporter and manufacturer.
