Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Great Britain: It is necessary to implement the UN Security Council resolution

Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - It is necessary to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2728 of March 25, calling on the parties to observe the ceasefire in Gaza, the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Britain Sameh Shoukry and David Cameron emphasized during a telephone conversation. This was reported today, March 28, by the Egyptian portal Ahram Online.

Sameh Shoukry reiterated Egypt's call for an end to Israeli practices that make the Gaza Strip "unlivable." He emphasized that these actions are carried out by Israel through indiscriminate attacks, provoking famine and using the practice of collective punishment of Palestinian civilians.

The Egyptian minister reiterated Cairo's opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians outside their lands and any attempts to “liquidate the Palestinian cause,” the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

He also declared Egypt's categorical opposition to any ground military operation in Palestinian Rafah, warning of the serious humanitarian consequences of the attack and the potential impact on security and stability in the region.

The two ministers exchanged assessments of the deteriorating humanitarian and security situation in Gaza. Sameh Shoukry and David Cameron called on all parties to respect the ceasefire, which, as is known, is rejected by Benjamin Netanyahu's government under the pretext of continuing the fight against Hamas.

The ministers called, based on the UN Security Council resolution, to achieve a complete and sustainable truce to end the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
