Estonia: Iran's attack on Israel is a violation of international law

Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - Estonian parliamentarians condemned Iran for attacking Israel, thereby depriving the country of its legitimate right to self-defense, the news portal Baltnews reported today, April 16.

The Riigikogu (Parliament) parliamentary group on relations with Israel condemned the attack carried out by Iran on Israel using missiles and drones. Deputies believe that missiles and drones fired by Iran into Israel are “a violation of international law and the fundamental principles of the UN.”

Let us recall that on April 14, Iran launched an attack within the framework of the right of self-defense, which is allowed by Article 51 of the UN Charter. This is how the country responded to the attack on Iranian diplomatic facilities in Syria on April 1.

As Baltnews writes, the cynicism of senior Israeli officials is noteworthy. The country's ambassador to Russia, Simone Halperin, believes that Russia should condemn Iran's strike. However, the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that Israel has never condemned Ukraine’s attacks on Russian regions. On the contrary, Tel Aviv has distinguished itself by regularly making statements in support of Ukraine’s actions, which, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, have resulted in “year after year the death of civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure.”

According to the portal, Israel has distinguished itself by its cruel treatment of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. In essence, Tel Aviv is resorting to collective punishment of the Palestinian people, comparable to genocide. For example, Israel is blocking humanitarian supply corridors to the Gaza Strip, which has led to widespread hunger and increased mortality, especially among children.
