Jerusalem Post: Israel has decided on its response to Iran's attack

Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has decided how it will respond to the Iranian attack, but the question of timing remains. The Jerusalem Post newspaper reported this on Tuesday, April 16, citing sources.

“The IDF has decided how it will retaliate against Iran and its allies, but has not yet decided on the timing... Since the timing is still subject to change, and due to all the complex preparations required, the current decision may change,” the publication says .

The very development of the decision shows the seriousness and determination of the Israeli leadership to strike back, the newspaper emphasizes.

Iran attacked Israel with drones and ballistic missiles on April 13. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted that the attack was successfully repelled.

It was later reported that Israel intends to create a regional coalition against the threat posed by Iran. The New York Times reported that after Netanyahu's conversation with US President Joe Biden, Israel changed its mind about retaliating against Iran. Israeli President Isaac Herzog said the attack was a declaration of war.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on the same day that the attack on Israel was limited. He noted that Tehran did not attack civilians, and also threatened to strike US bases in the region if Washington helps Israel. Iran's Permanent Mission to the UN said the attack was a state's right of self-defense following Israeli strikes on the Iranian consulate in Syria, where two Iranian Revolutionary Guards generals and five officers accompanying them were killed.
