The White House is ready to consider assistance to Ukraine as a separate package

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - The Joe Biden administration is ready to consider four separate bills to finance national security needs, including a package of assistance to Ukraine, proposed by Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson. John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, announced this at a briefing, Voice of America reports*.

“It's important that the House moves forward this week so we can help Israel, Ukraine, and also the South Pacific, but on the details, we'll wait and see what the Speaker comes up with. It is important that our allies Ukraine and Israel receive the security assistance they need as quickly as possible,” Kirby said.

US House Speaker Mike Johnson on Monday unveiled a plan to allocate foreign aid to Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan in separate bills and a fourth piece of legislation that consolidates other Republican national security priorities. NBC reports.

It is noted that these priorities will include the implementation of a loan-leasing program to help Kyiv, under which Ukraine will be provided with money secured by seized Russian assets, as well as the introduction of additional sanctions against Iran.

As bbabo.net reported, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson said on the social network X that this week a project on the allocation of additional assistance to Ukraine will be presented to Congress in the form of a separate document.

“This week we will consider individual bills with a structured and appropriate amendment process: funding our ally Israel, supporting Ukraine... strengthening our allies in the Indo-Pacific, taking additional measures to counter our adversaries, and strengthening national security,” he wrote.
