The Chechen minister was moving in the opposite direction, the Investigative Committee will take care of the matter - the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - The Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District conducted an investigation into the incident at the Gerzel checkpoint. There, last week, the police detained the drunken head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Chechnya, Alikhan Tsakaev.

“The driver of the car was moving in the oncoming lane of the federal highway R-217 Caucasus, creating a threat to road users. When detained, he actively resisted. Currently, an investigation into this fact has been completed, the results of which will be sent to the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee for further legal assessment,” the statement says.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also stated that the driver of the GMC Yukon behaved aggressively, did not respond to demands to present documents, used obscene language against the police and attempted to escape. Physical force and special means were used against him. The detainee struck several blows at law enforcement officers, the ministry reported.

bbabo.net reported that on April 17, a video of the minister’s arrest began to spread on social networks, and the accident itself happened on April 14.

At the Gerzel checkpoint, moving in the opposite direction of traffic, the car did not stop at the request of a traffic police officer, turned around at the intersection and tried to run over the Ministry of Internal Affairs officers, to which the hedgehog was released and the car was stopped. The driver, showing signs of severe alcohol intoxication, was detained.

Alikhan Tsakaev was detained. Chechen security forces soon came for him and took him and his car to Chechnya.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called the detention of Tsakaev in Dagestan a provocation.

“A number of persons, whose identities we have already established, tried to detain Alikhan Garmanovich in the most rude manner. All these actions were carried out without explanation, despite the fact that Alikhan Garmanovich did not commit a gross violation. He did not have official documents or uniform with him because he left on his day off. It turns out that this could be a reason to stage a whole performance at the checkpoint. Let me note that if Tsakaev had been in his general’s uniform, the post officers would have been afraid to even look in his direction. This is what happened later. When the attackers found out that they were dealing with a general who had a number of military merits and awards, they fled in cowardice,” Kadyrov said.

According to him, such police officers “need to be driven out of the structures with a bang.”

“I appeal to the leadership of Dagestan to pay attention to what happened and take appropriate measures against those responsible at the Gerzel checkpoint. They should not wear or stain a guard’s uniform,” the head of Chechnya called on.

In response, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, urged not to escalate the situation around the incident.

“The military brotherhood, forged during the confrontation with international terrorism, once again proved our unity and mutual support on the fields of a special military operation! And although the incident occurred at a federal checkpoint that is not under the jurisdiction of Dagestani law enforcement services, I still cannot allow this situation to somehow cast a shadow on the uniform of our Interior Ministry officers,” said the head of Dagestan.

Melikov expressed the hope that his colleague Ramzan Kadyrov did not mean employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan when he spoke about some kind of “shameful provocation,” because Dagestan police officers have rightfully earned the proud title of guardians of order.

“In the most difficult times for our republics, when Russia was threatened by international gangs, they selflessly defended their native land, our citizens and the integrity of our great country. Many gave their lives for this. It was the Dagestan policeman Magomed Nurbagandov who owned the phrase that became the motto for all fearless people performing military and official duties: “Work, brothers!” And today’s employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dagestan serve with dignity and professionalism for the benefit of society, acting within the established rules and instructions,” - said Melikov.

He called on all participants in the incident with Tsakaev to leave the case to law enforcement agencies and stop fueling the situation with information, so as not to give rise to provocations to the common enemy.
