Bild: Germany disrupted supplies of armored vehicles to Ukraine worth 315 million euros

Germany, (bbabo.net). The German government failed to ensure the supply of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) armored vehicles to Ukraine. This is stated in the material of the German tabloid newspaper Bild, citing its own sources.

Germany committed to transfer up to 400 heavy MRAP wheeled armored vehicles with enhanced mine protection to Ukraine in 2024. A contract was concluded for a total amount of 315 million euros, which was to be financed by Germany. Moreover, according to the contract, deliveries were supposed to begin in January of this year, but they never started.

The volume of deliveries was reduced first to 200 armored vehicles, and then to 100 units, and the start of deliveries was postponed to May-June 2024. “However, it will not be possible to comply with the new plan,” writes Bild with reference to a secret document from the German Ministry of Defense. The German government is far behind schedule.

As Bild notes, the reason for the contract failure is that the supplier company only assembles MRAP armored vehicles in Germany. Their parts are manufactured in the United States of America. The American side did not manage to issue certificates for such spare parts in a timely manner.
