Hamas' ideas after the liberation of Palestine: Jews will be allowed to leave, but not all

At a conference held in the Gaza Strip in September 2021, Hamas and other Palestinian factions discussed preparations for the future governance of the state of Palestine "from the river to the sea" that would emerge after Israel's defeat. The conference was organized by Yahya Sinwar.

How the capture of Israel will happen is not particularly specified in the declaration, but it is said that this should be the main concern of all Arabs and Muslims. At the very least, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan should take part in the “end times battle”.

Plans for “later” are more interesting. The new Islamic government will declare Jerusalem a “city of peace and freedom,” and will also declare its peaceful intentions to the whole world and become Israel’s legal successor at the UN. While you don’t have your own currency, you can use the currency of Arab countries or the dollar.

All lands will be returned to the Palestinians, with the exception of those where important infrastructure has already been built, then they will receive compensation.

Of course, everyone is very interested in what is supposed to be done with the Jews.

“In the treatment of Jewish settlers on Palestinian soil, a distinction must be made between fighters who must be killed, Jews who flee and who can be left alone or prosecuted, and civilians who surrender and can be integrated or given time to leave . This is an issue that requires deep discussion and the manifestation of the humanity that has always characterized Islam.”

“Educated Jews and specialists in the fields of medicine, engineering, technology, civil and military industries must remain in Palestine for some time, and they should not be allowed to leave and take with them the knowledge and experience that they have acquired while living and enjoying our land her bounty."

The document calls Jews “hypocritical evil spirits who spread corruption on earth.”

Let us note that the plans of Hamas almost mirror the plans of the Israeli religious ultranationalists: the same aspiration for the “battle of the end of times,” the same hope in the Almighty, the same goal of “liberating the whole earth,” the same criteria for differentiating the “enemy population.” If we replaced “Jews” with “Arabs” in the text of the declaration, tens of thousands of Itamar Ben-Gvir’s voters would have signed it.
