Ex-President of Moldova ignored the call to the prosecutor's office in the case of kidnapping $ 12 million

Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon did not come to the republic's Prosecutor General's Office for questioning on the fact of the politician's participation in the scheme to steal public funds. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to representatives of the Socialist Party.

We are talking about a case in which the ex-head of state was suspected of allegedly embezzling $ 12 million from the republic's budget.

As the prosecutor's office clarified, Dodon asked to postpone the hearings in the case until Wednesday, December 29. The time of the beginning of the hearings is not named. There is no official comment from Dodon yet.

According to the materials of the investigation, in 2008 the management of the Energocom company, which provides Moldova with electricity, entered into an agreement with employees of the Ministry of Economy and other persons, including foreign ones. All this was done in order to implement the scheme of overstating the purchase prices for electricity and appropriating the difference to itself. In 2008, Dodon headed the Ministry of Economy of Moldova and was the country's first deputy prime minister.

Earlier, the ex-president of Moldova blamed the country's new authorities for the crisis.
