US-led coalition attacked positions in northeastern Syria

An international coalition led by the United States struck firing positions located in the province of Deir ez-Zor in northeastern Syria. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the coalition press service.

The press service said that starting at about 3.40 pm on Tuesday, coalition forces monitored several indirect missile launch sites in the vicinity of the Green Village military base.

“Acting in self-defense, coalition forces launched strikes to eliminate the threat,” the statement said.

The coalition did not indicate the ownership of the firing positions.

Earlier, representative of the Center for Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) Viktor Kudinov said that the Russian military in Syria began patrolling the border between the territories controlled by the Russian Armed Forces and the international coalition led by the United States.

Prior to that, it became known that the Syrian army used Russian-made air defense systems to repel missile strikes by Israeli fighters on July 19.
